8th Grade Parade Pictures
The 8th Grade Parade was a HUGE success! Thank you to all the parents who donated party favors, supplies, balloons, treats, gift cards, time, etc. Our 8th graders felt the love.
2021 Summer Learning Opportunities
Hughes has a variety of Summer Learning Opportunities for students to participate in this summer.
Join the Driving Force in FCPS
Fairfax County Public Schools invites qualified individuals to join our transportation team. This is a great opportunity for stay-at-home parents to earn income with benefits (and bring your preschooler to work with you!). Retirees, college students and career-switchers are also encouraged to apply.
Required School Immunization Appointments Available
Documentation of immunization is required for students entering kindergarten, 7th grade, 12th grade, and for new students transferring into FCPS. Now is the time to schedule a free appointment through the Fairfax County Health Department for your child's immunizations.
No-Cost Summer Meals for Students
No cost summer meals for students available June 28 to August 5 at ten school sites and on 40 bus routes.
Virtual Mental Wellness Consultation
Any Fairfax County parent may schedule a 45-minute Virtual Mental Wellness Consultation this summer from June 28 through August 6. The consultation can take place by phone or video conferencing with a school psychologist or school social worker to get the support needed to help your child. There is no cost for this service.
Come Back for 5 Days
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is reaching out to parents, encouraging them to send their children back to in-person learning this fall. Take a look at images on banners, yard signs, and social media that highlight exceptional programs available to students as FCPS returns strong.
There is now a new Emergency Broadband Benefit available to eligible households through the Federal Communications Commission. This is a temporary benefit that will help to lower the cost of internet broadband service during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Find out more.
COVID-19 Vaccinations Available for Ages 12 and Up
As our community strives to achieve herd immunity, vaccinating children ages 12 and up is a critical step towards achieving that goal and will help to keep our schools healthy places to learn. We encourage everyone 12 years of age and older to get the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible. Many locations offer same-day appointments, and some even have walk in availability. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or another adult at all community vaccination sites.
Parent Technology Help Desk
The Parent Technology Help Desk will continue to support parents and students through the summer months. The number is 1-833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS). It will be answered by staff from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
